Hello!

My name is Nora Dickerson, the creator of this website! I am a senior undergraduate student at the University of Wyoming. I will be graduating in the Spring of 2026 with a bachelors degree in Secondary English Education and a minor in English as a Second Language! I am originally from Louisville, Kentucky but ended up here in Laramie almost four years ago to start my college journey! After graduating, I plan to move back home and begin teaching high school English.

The Story Behind the Site

This website is part of a larger project exploring lost or hidden memories on the University of Wyoming campus. This larger project is for a class through the university called Place and Public Memory. As a class, we have explored the meaning of public memory, the forgetting that comes with it, as well as countless stories of memories retold (including this one!). Keeping information visible is the most important part of keeping stories alive (Tutuncuoglu, Algorithmic Memory). This website not only informs its readers about Old Main and its tower but also prevents the tower from being forgotten altogether. Together, our class, will make a small Pocket Sites Tour where people like you can move through University of Wyoming's campus and learn about all of the different forgotten stories that it holds... all from the comfort of your screen!
